Over the previous year, Hornbill Engineering has taken on many exciting projects and as a result we are looking for multiple High Voltage Electricians to join our ever-expanding team.
The role will be based in Resolven, South Wales but with such a wide and diverse client base throughout the UK and overseas the role will have some expectation to travel.
Our typical markets include Oil, Gas, Chemicals, Metals and Utilities, therefore any experience within these sectors would be advantageous.
Job Responsibilities:
- Carry out electrical installation work efficiently in accordance with the National Working Rules for Electrical Contacting Industry and other relevant legislations.
- Ensure all work is installed in a safe manner that will not present harm or danger to others.
- Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures using hand/power tools.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
Key Skills Required:
- Must have been a registered apprentice or undergone some equivalent method of training and have had practical training in electrical installation work.
- Must have obtained an NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation work
- Must have had experience working as an Electrician.
- Communications skills, ability to interact with other skilled trade professionals, designers, and clients.
- Knowledge of national and local building codes.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient equipment and products.
- Use of testing equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
- Travel may be necessary.
