About the role:
We are seeking a single skilled technician with strong industrial electrical experience to ensure that all equipment at our sewage pumping stations is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced industrial electrical technician to join the south London pumping team. You will be working in and around the southeast area of London looking after more than 250 pumping stations of different sizes and complexities, ensuring sewage is removed from customers properties as efficiently as possible. You will be part of a close-knit, high performing team with a variety of different skills and will gain experience on a wide range of plant and equipment some of which are unique and innovative. This role offers great learning potential with the ability to cross skill into other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:
- To inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair electrical equipment.
- You will be working on various pumps and associated control gear, 3 phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSD’s, automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, chemical handling, and dosing equipment.
- Investigating plant failures and carrying out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions for our customers. This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents.
- Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on electrical equipment in compliance with company standards and procedures to improve plant resilience.
- Providing technical advice to the wider team, referring to up to date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.
- Participation in a 24/7 out of hours’ standby Rota will be required after a suitable period of training and assessment
What skills are we looking for?
- Be a time served apprentice within the significant experience of electrical systems ideally
- Having previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, with an 18th Edition qualification is essential
- ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ or C&G level 3 in Electrical engineering
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial.
- Physically fit as you may work in confined spaces with successful completion of the appropriate training
- A valid driving license is essential
