About the role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Technician with industrial experience to join our waste team in the Deephams area.
As the Electrical Technician, your role will be to ensure that all electrical equipment associated with our sewage treatment works are running safely and efficiently using both proactive and reactive maintenance methods.
You will need to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair as appropriate, electrical plant equipment. Working within the maintenance team you will follow a robust maintenance plan as well as getting involved in minor installation projects, such as electrical fault finding and emergency breakdown repairs to ensure our plant operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Key Accountabilities:
Working in a multi-discipline team, you will have the responsibility of carrying out installation works on a variety of electrical equipment at a range of industrial and construction locations and involving a number of different processes
Inspection, testing and maintenance on equipment such as electrical motor drive systems, and associated control systems including inverter drives, as required within the manufacturer’s guidelines and in compliance with current standards and regulations. This may lead to the need to carry out unscheduled emergency maintenance work
Examples of equipment that will require working on - 3 phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSD’s, automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, chemical handling and dosing equipment
Carry out the repair and maintenance of electrical motor drive systems and associated control systems including Inverter drives
Participate in a stand-by rota following the relevant training
Ideally, you will have completed an apprenticeship, or have a BTEC HNC or equivalent in an electrical subject
We are looking for an apprenticeship-served, 18th edition electrician. Due to the nature of this role domestic experience is not suitable
You must have the ability to work with minimum supervision and have knowledge of health and safety issues ideally relevant to the water industry
A full, UK driving licence is essential
