The role: Due to continued investment, a new and exciting opportunity has arisen at the OPA, as we seek to appoint an additional EC&I Technician,who will be responsible for their own quality of maintenance, service, and repair of plant.
Based at Garelochhead OFD (Oil Fuel Depot) you will be responsible for all reactive and preventative maintenance across a variety of critical equipment, including LV electrical distribution systems, motors, drives, switch gear, fire alarm, with and understanding of control systems and instrumentation, in respect of EC&I Engineering activities within the Oil Fuel Depots. Ensuring that all aspects of work are executed on time and in full compliance with company standards and UK and European legislation.
The role entails the individual to provide engineering support in areas of instrumentation, control, functional safety, electrical, and provide first line maintenance of the BPCS and associated equipment.
Travel with overnight stays to other sites will be required, therefore a full (preferably clean) driving licence is essential for this role. Works van will be provided. You will also need to be willing to undertake overtime at short notice during the week and weekends.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities include;
Providing Electrical, Control & Instrumentation maintenance and technical support for day to day operations across the Oil Fuel Depots,
Troubleshoot assigned Electrical Control and Instrumentation problems, resolving, and documenting any issues,
Complete routine and quality inspections of Instrumented systems across the OPA, ensuring compliance to the relevant standards,
An awareness of current legislation and statutory requirements, including DSEAR, EAWR & HASAWA, to ensure full compliance,
Complete all assigned tasks, safely, to the required quality and timeframes (Including investigation/troubleshooting, planned repair scopes, preventative and predictive maintenance, and equipment installation),
Carry out planned maintenance activities and defect rectification efficiently.
The candidate: The successful candidate will hold a recognised technical qualification with a minimum SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Maintenance or equivalent/relevant qualification (City & Guilds), or be assessed as competent with relevant experience. It would be preferable if you have valid CompEx Ex01-Ex04.
You will have proven industrial experience as an Electrical Maintenance Technician and preferably with an understanding of C&I systems within in a regulated environment. For the correct candidate, training will be available to cover aspects of OPAs C&I systems.
Individuals must be medically fit to undergo Breathing Apparatus and Confined Space training and operations, as well as having full colour vision.
