We are currently recruiting for a Electrical Foreman to join the Property Team at cardfactory who will be responsible for the day to day supervision of the field based electrical team.
The Electrical Foreman will be responsible for resolving issues and queries from the team and providing assistance and technical advice and guidance where required. They will also carry out quality control inspections of electrical works ensuring good standards of work are delivered and report back to the Electrical manager with all findings and the installation and repair of electrical power systems in buildings and associated external areas.
Their main duties include planning the layout of electrical wiring, diagnosing electrical problems and conducting general electrical maintenance across all UK & ROI retail stores, Support Centre offices and distribution warehouses as directed by the Electrical Manager. Along with undertaking periodic statutory inspections, identifying and completing remedial works to ensure all installations are safe and fit for purpose in accordance with current legislation and completing new electrical installations working alongside shop fit contractors.
Main Responsibilities- Support the Electrical Manager with the supervision, training and development of the Electricians
- Installing, maintaining, modifying and repairing all electrical systems in buildings and associated external areas to the national electrical safety standards and regulations
- Drawing electrical installation plans and technical diagrams for all electrical wiring including Emergency lighting, Fire Alarm systems, Portable Appliance Testing
- Ensure all test certification and related compliance documentation is completed accurately in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Troubleshooting major system failures and equipment malfunctions
- Providing first and immediate response to fault finding whilst maximising quality and ensuring cost effectiveness
- Advising on preventative works are required and when to replace aged electrical equipment to prevent hazards
- Reporting and rectifying any property H&S issues identified whilst on site
- Inspecting and assessing the work done by the Electricians
- Providing motivation and assistance to Electricians and Maintenance Operatives
- Overseeing the purchasing and maintenance of the electrical equipment on-site
- Consulting with builders, architects, and other workers on-site
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified to 18th edition electrical installation
- Proven experience within a supervisory role.
- City & Guilds 2391-52 - 2391-52 Electrician
- Up to date training on National Electric Code, British Standards Institution (BSI) codes as well as update their knowledge about electrical concepts, safety protocols and any other building codes.
- PASMA (tower scaffolding trained).
- Annual asbestos awareness certification in accordance with UKAS accreditation
- IOSH (Institute of occupational safety & health)
- General Construction Knowledge
- Attention to detail and good organisational skills
- Autonomy and the ability to multitask and prioritise workloads
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Competent in problem solving, planning and decision making.
- Health and Safety awareness together with basic First Aid and rescue skills
