Calibration Engineer with experience of calibrating electrical test equipment or pressure instrumentation / gauges is required for a Permanent position in the South Manchester area. The Electrical Calibration Engineer will be working circa 39 hours (Mon – Fri Days) – possible flexi-time. Competitive salary (DoE) + excellent benefits see below.

Purpose of job: Joining the team as a Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting specialist calibration and repair operations following procedures and ensuring compliance with client contractual and KPI obligations.
The successful Electrical / Pressure Calibration Engineer day to day duties will include:
- Calibration of electrical measuring / test equipment such as Calibrators, 18th Edition Test Equipment, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, DMM’s, Clamp Meters, Ammeters, Volt Meters, PAT testers, Insulation Testers and other general purpose DC test equipment.
- Conversant with Electrical theory and all types of calibration equipment
- Calibration of pressure instruments / gauges.
- Maintain the calibration database / certification, filing system and associated files to auditable standards.
- Assist with on the job training and in the development and improvement of Inspection and Calibration procedures when required.
- Participate in Inter-laboratory measurement audits.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and timely turn-around on all equipment and service.
- Perform other laboratory support functions as required in an efficient and orderly manner.
- Participate in external/internal audits as required by Quality Manager.
- Comply with company HSEQ guidelines at all times
- Aim to complete all work within the budgeted costs and target dates and ensure proper control and accounting of work in progress is maintained and that all information required for charging the customer is available.
To be suitable for this Electrical Calibration Engineer role you must have the following experience / characteristics:
- Relevant technical qualification such as Electrical / Electronic Degree, HND, HNC, NVQ/BTEC Level 3 or above.
- Recent experience of using Electrical DC / LF Test equipment or Pressure instrumentation / gauges.
- Good understanding of calibration practices and theories.
- Experience of working within a customer focused environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with the minimum of supervision & manage your own workload
- Must be PC Literate (MS Excel, Word etc.)
The ideal Electrical Calibration Engineer (DC / LF) will have the following skills / experience:
- Prior experience of calibrating electrical test equipment such as Calibrators, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, DMM’s, Clamp Meters, Ammeters, Volt Meters, PAT testers, Insulation Testers and other general purpose DC / LF test equipment and or Pressure Instruments / gauges to in-house / traceable standards or even UKAS standards
- Fully conversant with ISO17025
- Ability to create and calculate uncertainty of measurement.
- Good understanding of Windows-based (Excel and Word) and laboratory automation software.
- The ability to understand / interpret circuit diagrams (advantageous).
