Range £50,129.00 to £50,129.00

Job Purpose

The role involves working with the site Electrical and Instrumentation systems to support process operations, projects and maintenance activities across the site. The role will report to the Extraction APU Engineering lead and will take technical direction and management from the site Electrical & Instrumentation Support Manager. The scope of the role includes installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment and control systems to minimise downtime across the site.

Core Accountabilities

  • Troubleshooting and practical fault finding on plant and control systems
  • Installation of new plant or modifications as appropriate
  • Carry out planned and proactive maintenance activities as required
  • During maintenance periods undertake maintenance activities as well as testing and commissioning plant in readiness for operations
  • Reporting all engineering activities in the appropriate format into the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Ensuring audit trail of process control changes
  • Demonstrate the highest personal health and safety standards at all times and work effectively with other team members to carry out the tasks safely and effectively.

Skills, Knowledge & Competencies

  • IOSH Working Safely
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge gained through large scale, complex operational factory experience.
  • Understanding of hazards and controls associated with a complex industrial environment and producing food and feed.
  • Experience working within large industrial plants
  • Knowledge of working with Distributed Control Systems
  • A proven track record of effective technical problem solving, fault diagnosis and continuous improvement
  • ONC/HNC in appropriate Engineering skill supported by a recognised apprenticeship or qualification in electrical engineering
  • High degree of credibility and the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the factory and the operations function of the business
  • Demonstrate passion for working effectively as a team, supporting each other and the process and mechanical technicians working on site
  • Commitment to maintaining the Health & Safety for self and others.
