Specialist (Band 6) Occupational Therapist
Older Adult Mental Health Inpatient Service – Royal Cornhill Hospital, Aberdeen
37.5hrs per week
This is an opportunity for an innovative, enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) to join the Older Adult Mental Health Inpatient Service.
This is an exciting post working with older adults (65+) who are experiencing functional mental ill health or organic brain disease. The role will entail carrying out specialised Occupational Therapy assessment and providing a range of interventions in an inpatient setting, and supporting discharge to the community.
Input will be delivered both one to one with patients, jointly with other members of the Occupational Therapy and the wider multidisciplinary team, and in group settings.
There will be an opportunity to be involved in helping shape the service - including projects and contributing to service development. There will also be a role in supervision and line management of OT & Health Care Support Worker staff.
Regular supervision and support will be provided, as will the opportunity to develop through the use of an annual appraisal and a personal development plan.
Applicants will have experience in mental health and use of standardised OT assessments.
A driving licence is required for this post and access to a car advantageous. Flexible working, including evening and weekend work may be required to meet service demands.
