Alongside, Bright Start 0-5, Bright Futures strive to enable children, young people and families to access proportionate support locally.
Each locality has a universal offer, providing a rapid response to families and wrapping around universal services to manage emerging needs as early as possible. We offer case holding interventions to support families with multiple complex needs.
Education Support Workers offer local support to families, offering effective interventions that improve outcomes for children and young people, particularly in relation to attainment, attendance and reducing school exclusions. This will be achieved by being part of the school community, taking a proactive, assertive approach to supporting children to attend school. Offer in school support and work alongside practitioners already involved in a child’s life to improve educational outcomes.
Our vision is for children and young people to be safe, able to overcome difficulties and to form secure relationships through their childhood and into adulthood.
In 2020 we reviewed the way families are helped in Islington and have implemented the changes that our service users, staff and partners have told us would make the most difference to improving outcomes for families.
If you would like to be part of developing and delivering a service to better meet the needs of children and believe in the importance and value of early help, then this is an exciting opportunity for you to be a part of a new and exciting future for over 5s family support in Islington.
Providing an integrated offer within three locality based teams, each locality has a universal offer of help, a rapid response to families and wrapping around universal services to manage emerging needs as early as possible. This is in addition to case holding interventions which are flexible to support families with multiple complex needs and short term help in venues where families are.
We are looking for someone who shares our passion for evolving the way help is delivered to families, so that more families are helped more quickly, in places where they are through a flexible offer of support that has relationships at its heart.
The post holder will support local families, delivering interventions to ensure children and young people improve educational outcomes, particularly in relation to attainment, attendance and reducing school exclusions. You will work collaboratively with schools to proactively engage with the local community and share information, advice and guidance. You will have tools to successfully support and engage with families directly as part of a multi-agency approach. You will have experience of independently planning and delivering tailored interventions that improve children and young people’s educational outcomes and aspirations for the future.
We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates and acknowledge our responsibility to mitigate against systemic racism and inequalities.
