Job description
We’re looking for an engaging, dynamic and forward-thinking person to join us on a fixed-term basis as our Education Officer. We want our Learning Service to reflect and include all people living in the Borough, and help reshape traditional narratives as part of a fun learning experience.
This role will be responsible for the delivery and development of the Learning Service for The Amelia and will ensure that offers for all levels of formal and informal learning are available, accessible and designed to meet the needs of the user. The right candidate will be the type of person who enjoys forming and working in all kinds of partnerships in order to innovate and make sure things run smoothly.
What you will be doing:
- Create and deliver a Learning Service for The Amelia that meets the needs of teachers, tells an accurate and engaging story and is fun for children and young people
- Help shape the events programme for The Amelia and make sure learning is part of everything we do
- Make sure that our offers are accessible and represent everybody who lives in the Borough
- Form long-lasting partnerships with schools, other museums and other organisations like The Arts Society, Group for Education in Museums, UAL Decolonising Art Institute
- Be innovative in both practice and policy
- Search out potential funding opportunities to keep moving the service forward
- Be a leader and a manager for members of The Amelia team
