This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our Special Educational Needs and Disability Assessment and Review Team (SENDART). We are passionate about promoting high aspirations and expectations for children and young people and we are now seeking 4 like-minded individuals to join our team to support the growing number of children and young people in the East Riding with SEND (0-25 years) and their families.
These posts will help us continue our improvement journey in relation to the timeliness of annual review’s, enabling us to produce high quality amended EHC plans following annual review in line with statutory requirements. Additionally, these posts will support the statutory EHC assessment process, ensuring that we are able to provide both a timely and quality service, to secure the best possible outcomes for children and young people with SEND. This is an exciting time to be joining us on our journey of development and be part of a team that is ambitious and aspiring to provide outstanding services to the children and young people of East Riding of Yorkshire and their families.
We are looking for dedicated, organised, and resilient individuals to join SENDART as Education, Health and Care Officers (EHCOs). You will join a busy, fast paced team working closely with the families of children and young people with SEND to ensure the effective delivery of EHC annual review processes and assist schools and settings in facilitating high quality annual reviews for children and young people with Education Health and Care (EHC) Plans. You will also be required to lead the co-ordination and co-production of the EHC needs assessment across the full range of education settings.
You will produce high quality EHC Plans, completed within statutory timeframes; you will also be required to coordinate the delivery of relevant services / provision to ensure effective and timely delivery of the EHC process; working with relevant professionals in education, health and social care services, and other relevant disciplines, to ensure their knowledge, experience, skills and relevant assessments inform the EHC Plans.
You will have a degree or equivalent, preferably in a related field, and have experience of working with children, young people with SEND and their families. You will also have experience of working with families in relation to difficult / sensitive issues. You will be expected to have a thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice or demonstrate a desire to attain this once in post.
You will start with SENDART at Grade 9, however once completing the probationary period and satisfying progression criteria, there is the opportunity to move to Grade 10. These posts are permanent.
