Job Title RSE Facilitator
Reports to Managing Director
Company Mission Ensure as many children and young people as possible receive
high quality Relationship & Sex Education, to help keep them safe, healthy & happy.
Duties & Responsibilities
Delivery of excellent age-appropriate relationship & sex education in schools
(either Primary, Secondary or both.) Throughout Yorkshire & Lincolnshire.
- Detailed knowledge of the BigTalk Education lessons and the ability to deliver these in line with the organisations standard approach.
- Present lessons clearly and concisely with consideration to the age, ability level, personalities and mood of the group.
- Ability to deal with children and young people in a calm, friendly and gentle manner.
- Adaptable to changes in timetabling, classroom situation and other external factors, with the skills to overcome any challenges to deliver the best possible outcome for students and their teaching staff.
- Confidence to manage various classroom situations with fellow team members, involving school staff where necessary.
- Fulfil all necessary paperwork relating to lessons and ensure this is securely returned to the office.
Professional interaction with teaching staff at all times.
- Present a professional face of BigTalk Education at all times whilst on school sites.
- Aware that as a representative of BigTalk Education you are an ambassador for the company.
- Report any causes for concern to school immediately and fill out necessary paperwork and return promptly to the office.
Interacting with parents in a calm but informed manner.
- Detailed knowledge of the BigTalk Education parents’ presentations and ability to deliver these to groups of various sizes confidently.
- Ensure that you have the knowledge to speak to parents confidently about why their children will benefit from Age Appropriate RSE.
- Introduce parents to additional resource's they can use to speak to their children at home.
Personal Criteria
Skills & Ability
- Work as part of a Team.
- An engaging personality and teaching style.
- Strong rapport with pupils.
- Good classroom management skills.
- Able to listen to parents and display empathy where needed.
- Persuasive with parents that show concerns.
- Basic IT skills, including email, PowerPoint set up, preferably capable to populate word document templates.
- Driving license and access to own transport essential.
Experience
- Experience of working with children and/or young people.
- Preferably youth work or school based.
Knowledge
- Passion for RSE.
- Good knowledge of BigTalk Education policies and procedures.
- Able to answer challenging questions in a manner in line with company guidance.
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding within an RSE setting.
Other Requirements
- DBS checked.
- Willing to travel, occasionally overnight.

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 12-24 per week
Salary: £11.70-£19.00 per hour
