Job description
How would you like to be paid for five days but only work four*?
Our colleagues’ wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at OFG, so we’re always looking for new ways to improve everyone’s work/life balance. We’re taking part in a trial of the 4-Day Working Week, meaning that you could be working one day less a week (or equivalent).
If the trial is a success, we’ll be rolling the 4DWW out across the Group – so there’s never been a more exciting time to join #teamOFG!
Job Title: Part Time Outdoor Education and Activities Instructor
Location: Armley Grange, Leeds, West Yorkshire
Salary: up to £30,000 per annum (pro rata)
Hours: 2 days per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, term time only
Are you an Instructor committed to improving the lives of children and young people?
The right individual will help create a programme in which our children and young people can experience new challenges, gain on and build experiences and flourish outside of the typical classroom environment.
We would like the Outdoor Education and Activities Instructor to provide opportunities such as Duke of Edinburgh, John Muir Award and Forest Schools as well as offering swimming and other exciting outdoor opportunities. Qualifications for the above as well as other outdoor activity qualifications are desirable (a discussion about changing days may take place for every school year).
Planning and delivering the outdoor and activity curriculum in accordance with the individual needs of our young people is key and the successful candidate will need to take the time to get to know each one. This will promote personal development, well-being and above all, offer a range of outdoor experiences. You will set specific targets/intentions for our children and young people, work alongside other teachers to ensure curriculum coverage, work with and brief all relevant staff on the outdoor visits and create stimulating learning opportunities.
