Job Title: Education Assistant
Location: Haywards Heath
Job Type: Full-time - 32.5 Hours per week; Term time only

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a fantastic team as an Education Assistant.
As an Education Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our teachers and students in their educational journey. You will work closely with teachers, students, and other members of the school community to ensure a smooth and enriching learning experience.
Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area including offsite visits, home tuition, hospital support and incorporates the support of physical and complex medical needs.
Responsibilities of an Education Assistant:
- Collaborate with teachers to assist in the implementation of educational plans and strategies.
- Support students in their learning activities, providing individualized attention and assistance as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting student engagement and participation.
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour management, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Prepare teaching materials and resources, including setting up equipment and materials for lessons.
- Provide feedback on student progress and maintain accurate records of student performance and achievements.
- Support students with special needs or learning difficulties, adapting teaching methods and materials as required.
- Assist in the organization and supervision of field trips, extracurricular activities, and special events.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
Requirements:
- Experience of working with children and/or adults with disabilities.
- Good basic understand of Maths, English, IT and technology.
- Basic understanding of how children learn and develop.
- Able to support children and young adults to participate in a range of activities.
- Willing to attend specific training identified by the school to meet the changing needs of the pupils.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
