About the role
Wiltshire Virtual School strives to promote and support the education of all its children in care, wherever they are placed. We are a small but established team working in partnership with schools, colleges and early years settings, social workers and foster carers to create the best learning environments for our children.
Our post 16 young people in care continue to need support and encouragement throughout their college or 6thform courses if they are to achieve their full potential.
We aim to be aspirational for them, encouraging good attendance and engagement so that they can set their sights high and realise their ambitions.
The education advocate will be able to build up supportive relationships with these students, monitoring and promoting their attendance and ensuring that the young person’s voice is heard through the PEP process.
About you
You will have a level 4 qualification in education, social care, child development or psychology, or equivalent experience.
We will look to you to have excellent communication skills and relevant experience of working in an education setting.
Interviews will be confirmed upon shortlisting.
Interviews can be held both virtually on Microsoft Teams and in person, if your interview is virtual, candidates will be sent a link before the interview to download the Teams App. All current public health advice is followed for candidate and employee safety.
