Titan Publishing Group, the UK’s leading publisher of licensed film and TV
entertainment titles, are currently recruiting for an Editorial Assistant –
Titan Comics.
We’re looking for a highly organised, enthusiastic individual to join our busy
Illustrated Comics division. This position offers the right candidate a unique
opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the editorial process. As well as providing
general administrative support to the editorial team, the role will include liaison
with authors and licensors, proofreading and copyediting, writing jacket copy,
conducting research into new publishing opportunities. You will work closely with
internal departments such as Sales, Marketing, Production and Design, and help
ensure projects keep to schedule.
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or have equivalent
experience and must have excellent written and communication skills along with
strong computer skills, including InDesign, Word and Excel. You must be well
organized, highly efficient and able to set priorities and meet deadlines under
Responsibilities/Duties:
● Proofreading and Subbing
● Editorial support for reprints and originated titles including sourcing creative talent
● Assist with Deal Memos & Work for Hire Agreements for freelance contributors
● Processing and chasing payment on invoices for freelance contributors
● Coordinate Title Information Sheet Process including writing and chasing approvals from Editors/Licensors
● Manage complimentary copy process for contributors and licensors
● Assist in writing certain features and activity pages
● Assist with lettering
● Assist with art alterations
● Research, reporting, and analysis for the department including TV, movie statistics, sales data, social media numbers, etc.
● Assist with sourcing and ordering reference materials
● Collecting and circulating post including distribution, filing, and organization of office copies
● Dealing with couriers and mailouts including competition prizes
● Meeting prep and admin including meeting minutes/notes
● General office admin. including filing, scanning & copying
Person Specifiation
Essential
Excellent written and communicatiion skills
Strong computer skills, including InDesign and Photoshop
An interest and knowledge if TV, gaming and movie trends is essential.
Desirable
Some editorial experience would be advantageous.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £21,000.00 per year
