Accessible Media Inc. (AMI)’s mission is to entertain, inform and empower Canadians who are blind or partially sighted. Operating three broadcast services, AMI-tv and AMI-audio in English and AMI-télé in French, AMI’s vision is to establish and support a voice for Canadians with disabilities, representing their interests, concerns and values through accessible media, reflection and portrayal.

The role:

An exciting opportunity awaits one media broadcast student who has a passion to make a difference! AMI’s Live Production Department in the Toronto head office has a summer opportunity available. This position has the opportunity to be remote or in office.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the production team with preparing internally produced live programs
• Chase external interviews for live programs
• Work with regular contributors and other producers to prepare topics and write scripts
• Assist with social media and digital content
• Maintain established quality standards of AMI content
• Ensure broadcast deadlines are met

Requirements:

• Enrolled in post-secondary TV/media/broadcast program
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet
• Working knowledge of video editing software e.g. Adobe Premiere, After Effects
• Exceptional interpersonal, written/verbal communication and grammatical skills
• Strong research, planning, creative and organizational skills
• Experience working with volunteers or the public would be an asset
• Experience working in a live television broadcast environment an asset
• Excellent attention to detail
• Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
