We are recruiting for two in-house Senior Scientific Editors to help further develop our industry leading Open Access journal. This is a superb opportunity for you join a motivated and creative team and play a critical role in the development of this journal.
About the Role
You will be responsible for overseeing the team of editors, assuring all relevant and scientifically accurate research is considered for publication. You will drive the continued growth of the Journal in terms of quality and volume and will drive new initiatives to keep the journal at the leading edge of research communication. This role can be based from our UK offices (Oxford or London), our offices in China (Beijing) or Amsterdam.
Responsibilities
- Managing the editorial process of the journal and acting as the main point of contact for the journal editors
- Establishing and maintaining close contacts with the scientific community in academia and industry
- Managing the general and multidisciplinary neuroimaging sections (managing peer review, making final decisions)
- Building a network of guest editors, scientific reviewers, and authors in multiple sub-specialties
- Working with other Editors on the solicitation of journal content in high-interest fields and emerging areas
Requirements
- Have a PhD in neuroscience ideally specialising in neuroimaging
- Have a record of having published papers in scientific journals
- Have excellent communication skills, and excellent written and spoken English
- Have broad scientific interests and a passion for helping scientists publish their work
- Have the ability to build relationships both within the scientific community as well as within Elsevier
