Job description
We are looking for a local talented actor to join our current Witches and History walking tour coven in the glorious city of Edinburgh. We need someone with good afternoon availability - the tour runs every day as follows:
- Mondays @4:00pm
- Tuesdays @4:00pm
- Wednesdays @4:00pm
- Thursdays @5:00pm
- Fridays @3:00pm & 5:00pm
- Saturdays @3:00pm & 5:00pm
- Sundays @3:00pm
Actors are allocated at least one tour day a week.
- The first round of auditions will be self-tapes.
- The second, an online meeting (asap).
- Rehearsals will be plotted over a 3-week period.
This is a fully scripted piece and rehearsals will start asap for the right actors. Terms and hours are flexible. The tour takes place in and around Edinburgh's old town and focuses on tales of Scottish witches across the ages, with a little bit of Edinburgh history thrown in along the way too.
This is a one-person show; all eyes on you. We’re looking for strong actors who are super confident with a lovely high engaging energy - someone who will embody the character of our fun, quirky, knowledgeable witch. The role is written as a friendly whimsical witch, not in any way a "wicked" one.
We're looking for:
- Very strong outside projection (with the help of a radio mic when necessary)
- Engaging storytelling abilities
- A confident people manager
- Someone comfortable working alone - and outside, whatever the weather!
A Scottish accent would be ideal, but others will be considered.
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 0-12 per week
Salary: Up to £90.00 per day
