The Role Is

The Economic Crime Analyst will be responsible for performing full Fraud and Financial Crime checks and reviews on new to bank and existing consumer and corporate customers. This will span Fraud Investigation, claims management and all Economic Crime regulatory requirements to include, KYC/KYB, PEP and Sanction Screening, Transactional Monitoring, Customer and Enhanced Due Diligence.

Team hybrid working style

The expectation for this role, will involve working out of one of the healthiest workspaces for mental health and physical wellbeing in the UK! You will be required to work out of the Spine building in Paddington village three days a week with compulsory days Tuesday and Thursday but the 3rd day is flexible.

Key Responsibilities

Economic Crime Controls - Investigation and review

  • Conduct timely and thorough investigation of Customer Fraud claims/investigations to drive right customer and bank outcomes.
  • Perform identity and verification checks
  • Review and decision Sanction and PEP screening alerts
  • Review red flag indicators through transactional monitoring including completion of adverse press checks
  • Perform KYC/KYB customer due diligence to determine the nature of business and purpose of the account
  • Make sound risk-based decisions on the outcome of an account review to ensure that the account is in line with risk appetite.
  • Apply knowledge of AML regulations to daily tasks.
  • Use all available tools to obtain and collate information to ensure a robust due diligence/investigation process has been followed.
  • Identify when cases require escalation and follow agreed processes.
Risk & Control Management

  • Understand the processes and the associated risk controls that Cashplus Bank have in place, throughout the lifecycle of a customer relationship, identify opportunities to strengthen and improve where appropriate.
  • Keep up to date with current regulations, including but not limited to the Money Laundering Directives, PSD, and FATF recommendations, supporting colleagues with knowledge share.
  • Take appropriate action to escalate issues that could cause detriment to our Economic Crime controls.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the other Economic Crime Analysts, Team Leader, and Manager
  • Adopt a continuous improvement approach to the role to identify and suggest enhancements.

You'll Need to Have

Essential

  • Fraud investigation and or Financial Crime experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of fraud claims management, associated legislation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to make sound risk-based decisions where judgement is required.
  • Proven experience working in an Economic crime environment within financial services.
  • Ability to work as part of a dynamic and growing team.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office suite products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage a high and demanding workload within set service levels.
  • Sound experience and knowledge of UK and International financial crime regulations that govern the financial industry.
  • Operational knowledge of the Money Laundering Directives and FATF Recommendations

Desirable
  • Ability to adapt to change and suggest/implement process improvements.
  • Qualification(s) in Anti-Money Laundering, Financial Crime, Fraud, or other financial risk related subject.
