Job Title: Early Talent Assistant
Location : Birmingham, Glasgow or Leeds
Hours of work: 9am - 4pm (Scotland) or 9:30am - 5:30pm (England), with flexibility to attend occasional recruitment events in the evening and undertake occasional national travel.
Purpose of the role
To provide professional and quality administrative support to Graduate Recruitment and Early Talent Advisors responsible for international graduate hires and apprentices in England. You are expected to provide excellent service at all times and demonstrate your organisational and interpersonal skills.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Supporting GR Advisors in the planning, organisation and delivery of vacation scheme programmes in Ireland, South Africa and the Middle East;
- Remotely supporting the delivery of assessment centres for Ireland, the Middle East, South Africa and other international locations as required;
- Assisting international offices with attraction of candidates to graduate roles, for example booking and attending law fairs and events; ordering and distributing marketing materials; utilising templates to draft HTML emails, adverts, PowerPoint presentations; creation and posting of social media content e.g. LinkedIn and Instagram;
- Supporting in the delivery of diversity-focused programmes and initiatives e.g. scholarships, mentoring programmes.
- Supporting Early Talent Advisors in the attraction of Apprentices into both legal and non-legal roles across the UK, for example preparing presentations and skills sessions, booking rooms and resources, and liaising with third party providers e.g. schools and colleges;
- Supporting Early Talent Advisors in the recruitment of Apprentices including screening Apprenticeship applications using standard recruitment framework; planning and delivery of assessment centres for Apprentices e.g. booking rooms; identifying assessors; management of assessment materials; and assisting with candidate management;
- Supporting Early Talent Advisors in the planning, organisation and delivery of both legal and non-legal Apprenticeship programmes;
- Supporting Graduate Recruitment and Early Talent Advisors with any ad-hoc work experience and apprenticeship administration;
- Assisting on a number of other equity diversity and inclusion (EDI) projects and initiatives related to wider early talent;
- General administrative support including updating and maintaining relevant sections of intranet and website; initial point of contact for inbox queries; processing invoices and expense claims; arranging travel; supporting on reporting, presentation of data, PowerPoint presentations for Head of Early Talent.
Key Skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
- Excellent organisational and time management skills;
- Self-motivated and ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to demonstrate being 'approachable, bold and connected' consistent with the firm's core values
- Methodical with excellent attention to detail;
- Willingness to learn new skills and work flexibly as part of a team;
- Good communication skills including comfort representing the firm, speaking to candidates and other interested parties at recruitment events
- Positive 'can do' attitude;
Qualifications & Relevant Experience
Previous experience of working within a legal and/or early careers recruitment or HR environment advantageous, but not essential. Alternatively, this role may suit a recent graduate with an interest in a career in HR, recruitment or early careers.Our strength lies in our differences.
