Change is in the air. Our maintenance department is evolving to open up a whole new world of possibilities and that includes greater flexibility on aircraft type ratings. This means we’ll provide you with all the training to certify our aircraft while you’re in your leadership role.

A time of investment and growth in our fleet, producing endless opportunities for our Engineers. We have a number of different aircraft you can work on. A320s, B777s, B787s, A350s and A380s. We continue to grow out fleet with more A350s and Boeing 787 Dreamliners on the way.

You’ll quickly discover that no two days are ever the same at BA. With 111 long-haul and 142 short-haul aircraft the possibilities are endless. There are opportunities in both our line and hangar-based teams with a number of different shift patterns available. But most importantly, we’ll give you all the ownership and trust to do the best job you can, building your confidence and improving your decision making skills with the support of a qualified team of mechanics and technicians.

About the role

If you are passionate about aircraft maintenance and have an ambition to lead a team of highly skilled engineers to deliver outstanding operational performance, then the role of British Airways Duty Shift Manager in LHR Base Maintenance will be for you.

You will be responsible for leading a team of managers and Engineers who are responsible for the safety, delivery, punctuality and serviceability of aircraft at LHR. Experience of working within technical environments will be vital for setting direction and leading your team to find solutions to challenging technical defects in a pressurised environment, working with our production engineers to deliver for our customers.

British Airways operates 24/7 with various shift patterns to fit the operational day.
