Duty Manager
Located in the charming village of Hawkshead close to Windermere and the Lake District Fells, the Queens Head boasts everything you would expect from a charming 17th Century building. Our menu is packed with Cumbrian classics – ideal for guests enjoying a trip to the Lakes, staying in one of our 13 beautiful bedrooms or visiting the local area.
Our Duty Managers act in a supporting role to the General Manager and Assistant Manager at all times and cover for them in their absence. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the day to day running of the Bar, Kitchen and Rooms to ensure the smooth running of the business. You will be professional, friendly and have excellent interpersonal skills.
This is the first step on the Management ladder and you will benefit from excellent training and development to assist you in your future career progression to Assistant Manager and General Manager level.
Our successful manager must be hands on and lead by example demonstrating the ability to motivate and lead a team. You will have the willingness to ‘role your sleeves up’ and muck in - no job is too small, especially during busy service periods when it's all hands-on deck.
You will have a passion for fresh quality food and a sound knowledge of real ales. With an enthusiastic and vibrant personality. You will be organised and have an extraordinary attention detail, as well as a real passion for delivering personal, fantastic and memorable service to our guests.
Keeping up to date with licensing legislation and taking legal responsibility for the premises, along with ensuring all health and safety requirements are maintained is essential. Experience in managing Best Practice operations and Cellar Management is also a must.
