Working alongside the Depot Manager, as part of the distribution management team, you’ll manage a team of around 20 drivers in the safe, efficient and effective performance of our distribution operation through continuous improvement. Our distribution team is working hard to ensure we successfully distribute our fresh baked product nationally to over 17000 retail stores each day.
Our Driver Operations Team Manager will work shifts 5 days in 7 and across 2.30am to 11.30am, 4.00am to 1pm, 6am to 3pm, 7am to 4pm and 9.30am-6pm on a rotating basis.

In this role you will ensure our quality products reach our customers on time and in full. We never compromise on Health & Safety, Legal Compliance and ensuring we adhere to Transport Operator Regulations. You will have had previous experience of managing and developing a high-performing team, achieving team goals and targets as a wider part of the national distribution team and strategy. We will be looking for you to be able to lead by example and through industry expertise in Distribution, to be a decisive, inspirational leader, passionate about creating a “One Team “ culture across both Warehouse & Distribution.
Working within a fast-paced 24/7 distribution site you will appreciate the importance of clear and consistent communication, working in collaboration shifts within Warehouse & Distribution. To do this you will have previous experience of working with cross-functional teams, running both team and group meetings to understand operational issues, strategy and planning.
You’ll effectively manage the operation to confirm that budget targets and key cost ratios are achieved and ensure all vehicles are released for maintenance and maintained in accordance with Company policy and statutory and legal requirements.
- Previous experience of operating at a management level within a Transport environment.
- Experienced in managing teams, coaching and mentoring.
- Have a good understanding of WTD and Tachograph Laws.
- Have an excellent knowledge of Transport Legislation.
