The Purpose of the role:
To lead all aspects of Driver Operations at Lincoln, Boston and Norwich to ensure the delivery of a safe and punctual train service. Deliver financial results against productivity targets and promote a service delivery and business culture amongst the Driver Management/Driver teams.
Based in Lincoln (with regular travel to Boston and Norwich)
Key Responsibilities of the role:
- Responsibility for Driver performance at Regional Depots, ensuring the Driver Management team achieve the highest possible Safety and Operating standards at all times
- Responsible for the Depot KPIs and lead the driver manager team to deliver improvements
- Lead the timely delivery of safety investigations, ensuring lessons learned are successfully embedded, driving a positive culture of continuous improvement.
- Act as Local liaison officer for Drivers LDC/LLC. Ensure Local Drivers Codifications are appropriate and meet the requirements of the business
- The production and authorisation of Depot Local Policy arrangements and Emergency Plans
- Responsibility for all Health & Safety legislation and fire precautions at locations in areas designated under the Driver Depot Manager’s control including ensuring that Driver training and ongoing assessments are completed in line with agreed standards and all activities are thoroughly audited.
- Establish and maintain safe and correct standards of operational performance, through the leadership of Driver Managers.
- Ensure excellent working relationships are maintained between local Operations, Fleet, On Train and Stations teams driving a one team approach delivering a high standard for customers.
- Ensure Driver Managers are assessed in occupational competence and in full rules and regulations.
- Responsibility for leading employee engagement within Driver teams at Regional Depots.
- Lead Safety Standards, industrial relations, discipline and welfare issues for the Driver Standards Managers/Driver Managers and Drivers.
- Assisting the Support the Resource Strategy Manager in calculating and delivering Driver establishments through effective workforce planning
