Who We Are
Weston Transportations Enterprise (WTE) provides trained qualified employees for non-emergency transportation services. Every WTE client and passenger is treated with the highest level of care, patience, and compassion as would be expected of a nurse and caregiver. WTE "moves" its clients every day through its special care and attention as they drive them from pickup to destination and finally to their safe return.
What It Takes To Be Our Driver
- Operate vehicles including a paratransit bus or mini van and assist passengers getting on and off the vehicle
- Pick up and drop off passengers per daily route schedule
- Secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices
- Obey the rules of the road and DOT regulations
- Practice safe driving habits
- Communicate with dispatch and complete necessary daily paperwork
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Make our customers smile!
Driver Qualifications
- Be at least 23 years of age
- Have a Driver’s License for at least 3 years
- Have a clean driving record with no more than 1 moving violation in the past 12 months or 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
- Have not had a Driver’s License suspended in the past 5 years
- Have a High School diploma or equivalent
- Be willing to make a difference in the community
- Be able to provide great customer service
- Be authorized to work in the US
- Be able to pass a background, drug, and DOT physical test
Driving Conditions and Physical Requirements
Drivers must be able to:
- Remain seated and drive a vehicle up to 10 hours per day
- Remain alert during shifts up to 10 hours per day
- Push, pull, lift, load, unload items needed to perform functions of the job
- Speak, hear, and/or communicate effectively in English, using proper grammar and vocabulary
- Use close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception along with the ability to focus vision
