Job description
Our busy client is currently looking for Relief Van Drivers based in Edinburgh, working on their collection & delivery functions.
Due to the nature of the business (Secure Mail), you will be required to pass both a credit & criminal record check and be able to supply a 5-year written reference.
We are seeking candidates who are keen on a flexible work pattern as there is a mixture of start times outlined below.
Hours of Working -
Mon to Fri – (Sat AM ONLY)
AM: From 04:00 (Various Hours)
PM: From 11:00 – 19:30 (Various Hours)
Requirements for this role include:
Your first part of the job will be planning your delivery route and carrying out safety checks on your vehicle each morning along with manually loading your own vehicle.
You will be responsible for delivering parcels to businesses such as Airports/Hospitals & banks therefore full security checks will be carried out.
We need you to have a positive and proactive outlook, be a brilliant team player and have the ability to build good relationships with everyone you work with.
Physical fitness is necessary as you will be expected to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 30kg along with being able to walk long distances.
· A Category B Driving Licence, experience in driving vehicles up to (3.5t)(Sprinter size van)but this is not essential.
· Have good delivery experience & a good geographical knowledge of the Scottish central belt.
· Be able to work independently & as part of the team, and follow instructions when given.
**We cannot accept any more than 6 points on your licence. **
