We are seeking a agency driver who can work flexibly across a 7 day period sometimes working evenings and weekends.
The Civic Duty Officer is responsible for overseeing the successful and effective co-ordination of the transportation and attendance of the Council’s civic representatives to official meetings, events, functions, and other duties ensuring they arrive safely and in a timely manner.
They will drive and attend to the elected Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Chair, and other civic representatives at official duties through the safe, effective, and efficient driving in the Council’s civic and/or other official cars.
Working with the wider Executive Support Team, Transport Services and Officers the Civic Duty Officer will ensure events are successfully supported ensuring smooth and timely transition to meetings, events, conferences including planning effective routes, scoping out venues, co-ordinating parking, or other charges.
They will be required to ensure the maintenance of the civic regalia including Mayoral robes, chains and badge of office and maintenance of the Mayoral vehicle.
They will act as mace bearer at council meetings as well as being available support the successful organisations of official events, some taking place out of hour, evenings, and weekends such as Remembrance Sunday.
The Civic Duty Officer will proactively support the efficient planning of events and diary management of the Mayor ensuring that there is communication across multiple teams and services to deliver a highly organised and professional service that supports the role of the Mayor, they will advise and the support the Mayor as required, working flexibly and proactively.
