Do you enjoy the experience of a good charity shop? The Salvation Army Bristol Citadel Church is recruiting for a Relief Van Driver to support the safe running of our charity shops and community centre.
You will be joining a team of charity shop managers and assistant managers to work alongside and ensure that the locations are in line with our health and safety requirements. As part of our Caring for Creation mission we work towards recycling as much as we possibly can, however sometimes there are items that we are unable to recycle and therefore these need to be discarded suitably.
Key Responsibilties:
Along with supporting the safe running of the charity shops, you may also be asked to carry out additional driving requests from the community centre to collect goods that will support our community work.
You will be expected to carry out necessary checks on the vehicle to ensure that it is in good working order and safe to use.
You will be required to undertake manual handling duties as required and to assist in the collecting, lifting, loading and unloading of goods as needed.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
You must have good communication skills and will be expected to display behaviours that model The Salvation Army’s values of integrity, compassion and respect with the general public, especially when collecting and delivering items.
Experience of driving a van and a full, clean UK driving licence is required.
