Class 1 Heavy Haulage Driver
Are you an experienced Class 1 driver looking for a fulfilling and well-compensated position with your own allocated tractor unit? Look no further! We have an exciting opportunity for a Class 1 Heavy Haylage Driver to join our reputable transportation company. This full-time, permanent position offers 5 days of work in any given week, with 6 shifts often available, and a generous salary ranging from £100.00 to £260.00 per shift.
Position: Class 1 Tramping Driver
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Westcott, Aylesbury
Responsibilities:
- Operate your own allocated tractor unit for deliveries of crane ballast and assorted crane parts to sites across the UK.
- Transport “STGO CAT 3” loads with a gross weight of 100 tons, adhering to all relevant safety regulations.
- Secure loads using ratchet straps and chains; training will be provided if needed.
- Familiarize yourself with Drivers’ EU hours and Working Time Directive regulations, ensuring compliance during shifts.
- Be prepared for nights away from home (“tramping”) when required.
- Complete FORS Silver standard training, which will be provided (prior completion advantageous).
- Demonstrate an agricultural background knowledge (beneficial but not essential).
- Maintain valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph Card at all times.
Requirements:
- Valid C+E license, essential.
- A minimum of 1 year of similar driving experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of securing loads with ratchet straps and chains is beneficial but not essential (training provided).
- Familiarity with Drivers’ EU hours and Working Time Directive regulations is advantageous (training provided).
- Experience in FORS Silver standard training is advantageous (prior completion beneficial).
- Agricultural background knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
- Possess excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Right to work in the UK
