We are looking for a driver to join our client's team in Southall. We are looking for a driver who is reliable, punctual, and willing to work hard to succeed in this position.

Schedule: Full-Time 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday)

Duties:

• Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to/from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centres
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Input “macros” into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process
• Comply with transportation rules and regulations (e.g. no stopping, no standing, no moving traffic)
• Report accidents, malfunctions, or unusual occurrences that might occur during road work
• Submit reports on vehicle activity or issues noticed during routine inspections
• Follow company policies on how to handle waste material
• Perform other duties as assigned (e.g. cleanliness restoration, inventory control, delivery duties)

Skills:

• Knowledge of vehicle equipment (air conditioning, tires, break pads etc.)and its operation is a plus but not required
• Ability to drive in both light and heavy traffic at all times and during all weather conditions
• Good computer skills and an understanding of electronic devices and software used in a transportation setting
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to lift heavy objects for long periods of time (up to 75 lbs.)
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (8 hours or more) while driving a truck at high speed in a confined space. This will be done on a regular basis.
• Must have C1 entitled on your licence which will allow you to drive 7.5-tonne vehicles.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Must have no criminal record.
• Experience is desirable but not mandatory.
