Job description
Responsible to: Registered Manager/Domicilary Managers
Purpose of Position:
The company driver will be responsible for conveying staff of the organisation to areas where they are required
To collect medication from the surgery and deliver to the clients homes
To pick up shopping and deliver to the client, or drive and accompany clients to the shop
To drive clients to Doctors and Hospital appointments
Principle Resposibilities:
To carry out tasks at times nominated by the management
To carry out all tasks in a way that demonstrates respect for the privacy, dignity and value of the clients, irrespective of disability or personal circumstances
To summon appropriate assistance in an emergency
That all actions should sustain, support and enhance the wellbeing and independence of the clients
Maintain confidentiality at all times
It will be the responsibility of the driver to inspectthe vehicle and undertake basic support undertakings i.e refuelling and reporting any faults to the manager
It is the driver's responsibility to keep the vehicle clean
To complete vehicle travel logs
He/she should be compliant with all traffic rules
To dress in accordance the company dress codes
In some cases the driver may likewise be tasked with driving different types of vehicles as circumstances require
Qualification and Experience:
Full, clean diving licence
Basic First Aid Training will be given
Special Conditions:
Successful applications will be subject to a D.B.S check
