Job description
We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 driver to join our Brick and Block Haulage department. Drivers will be expected to travel around the country to deliver customer goods in a safe an professional manner. The position is available from our Bideford, Wrangaton, Exeter and Caldicot depots. This is for a wagon and drag or artic type vehicle and includes nights out.
Key Skill Requirements for driver
- Deliver customers good in a professional and friendly manner
- Ensure the most direct truck friendly route is taken
- Ensure the vehicle is safe and fit to be on the road by carrying out adequate daily checks.
- Work within the tachograph and working time directive laws
- Ensure all PODs are captured accurately
- Able to work on own initiative and part of a team
- Report any issues effectively and promptly to management
- Be able to work to a productive nature.
Qualifications and Skills For driver
- Full driving licence In date driver CPC and digital tachograph
- Sound geographical knowledge of UK and be able to use a road atlas.
- Posses good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Have a reason able level of fitness Presentable, good attitude and polite.
- Moffett/ Lorry loader experience required
- Netting and sheeting experience of benefit but not essential
- ADR benefit but not essential
