Job description

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Powered Pallet Truck Operator to join our team at Direct Staff UK. As a Powered Pallet Truck Operator, you will play a crucial role in our warehouse operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods using powered pallet trucks.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate powered pallet trucks to transport goods within the warehouse premises.
  • Load and unload materials onto and off of pallets, shelves, or trucks using the pallet truck.
  • Safely manoeuvre and navigate pallet trucks in narrow spaces and around obstacles.
  • Inspect pallet trucks for any defects or malfunctions before and after use.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Collaborate with warehouse team members to meet production and shipping goals.
  • Assist in general warehouse duties, including packaging, labelling, and organizing goods.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleanliness of the powered pallet trucks.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience operating powered pallet trucks or similar equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in inventory tracking.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends if required.
  • Valid forklift or pallet truck operator certification is preferred but not mandatory.
