Job description
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Powered Pallet Truck Operator to join our team at Direct Staff UK. As a Powered Pallet Truck Operator, you will play a crucial role in our warehouse operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods using powered pallet trucks.
Responsibilities:
- Operate powered pallet trucks to transport goods within the warehouse premises.
- Load and unload materials onto and off of pallets, shelves, or trucks using the pallet truck.
- Safely manoeuvre and navigate pallet trucks in narrow spaces and around obstacles.
- Inspect pallet trucks for any defects or malfunctions before and after use.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, ensuring proper documentation.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to meet production and shipping goals.
- Assist in general warehouse duties, including packaging, labelling, and organizing goods.
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleanliness of the powered pallet trucks.
Requirements:
- Prior experience operating powered pallet trucks or similar equipment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in inventory tracking.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends if required.
- Valid forklift or pallet truck operator certification is preferred but not mandatory.
