Job description
We have a vacancy for a mini-bus driver for two days a week.
This post is 12 hours per week over two days.
Wednesday 0930 - 1530
Friday 0930 - 1530
The hours would involve approx 1.5 hours driving in the morning and 1.5 in the afternoon. The remaining hours would involve general duties such as vehicle/bus cleaning, fueling and other duties as required.
This post would suit someone retired or someone who works part time but they must be prepared to integrate and enjoy working with our existing team, and our elderly members.
Any applicant must have a clean driving licence with category D1 in place.
Duties:
- Safely operate our minibus to transport our elderly members to and from their homes within the area
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations to ensure a safe and efficient journey
- Liaise and communicate with staff regarding updates and changes to allocated routes or schedules
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine maintenance checks
- Assist our members with boarding, disembarking, and travelling on the minibus
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding passenger safety
- General duties to help in and around the day centre.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record - including D1 on licence.
- Ability to communicate and be patient with our elderly members
- Physical ability to assist passengers onto the minibus either by steps or tail-lift
- Familiarity with local traffic and routes
- School bus driving or Community transport experience is a plus
