driver Watford, East of England, England
Job description
Our lunch and social clubs provide crucial social interaction for our veterans, who often feel isolated or lonely. This is their chance to get together, meet other blind veterans and have a good old chat over some great food.
We are looking for a very organised volunteer, with a great sense of teamwork and leadership. Someone who is helpful, not afraid of a little hard work and has an understanding of older visually impaired people’s needs. This would be ideal for someone who drives and would be able to pick up one or two veterans on the way.
Obviously we will be there to support you and give you any training or advice you may need. Does this sound like you? If you have a flair for organisation and for throwing interesting parties and activities please get in touch.
Volunteers must be over the age of 18 years and understand the importance of confidentiality and relationship boundaries. The role can be flexible around your other commitments, but we ask that you are reliable and punctual for our veterans. You will be fully trained and supported so you feel comfortable and confident in your volunteering. Also, your expenses with transport and telephone calls will be refunded.
