The role
As a Driver, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary where you’ll undertake varied driving tasks and duties within the day to day running of the Transport Section at RAF Cosford (Albrighton) and RAF Shawbury (Shrewsbury).

Day to day, you’ll operate cars, vans, minibuses and coaches in support of the contract with the MoD.

• Responsible for ensuring that daily inspection is carried out before use, that any faults are reported and that the cleanliness of the vehicle is maintained.
• Drivers are expected to work flexibly and willingly, potentially in all areas of the contract – not just driving, undertaking tasks commensurate with their training, knowledge, competency and capabilities in order to deliver the Company’s contracted output to the MoD.

Essential experience of the Driver:

• 'Drivers’ hours' knowledge is essential, as you'll need to be able to follow the rules on how many hours you can drive and the breaks that you need to take.

This role is 39.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. There is opportunity for overtime work and potential to move to shift work pattern if desired. Flexibility required to support both RAF Cosford and RAF Shawbury as and when required.

Qualifications for the Driver:

• Category B/B1, PSV Category D experienced driver
• Driver CPC Holder
• Driver Tachograph Card

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
