Libraries Driver Assistant (Part Time 18 hours per week - £12,050 per annum)
Based: Outreach Library within Eltham Library
The Outreach Library is looking for a new Driver Assistant (Part Time, 18 hours per week), working in the Royal Borough of Greenwich in this highly-regarded library service, operated by GLL. Based in Eltham Library, the community is at the heart of everything we do.
As a key member of staff, you’ll adapt to, and acknowledge, the diversity of our customers and their requirements. Visiting housebound customers in their own homes, residential care homes as well as schools and nurseries, often lone working when out in the community. Your passion for libraries and community engagement will be apparent as you help people to continue to have access to the library service.
You’ll already have library experience, be comfortable working alone and hold a clean driving licence but it’ll be your enthusiasm for helping others and devotion to customer care that makes you really stand out.
A naturally good communicator, you’ll be visiting people of all ages and backgrounds and need to make them feel at ease.
Organised, efficient and thriving on variety, you’ll be just as competent using IT and library management systems. It goes without saying that you’ll need excellent numeracy, literacy and communication skills, alongside administrative skills, knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
