Calon Fawr Care and Support Services Ltd is a small business in Pontypool, Torfaen. We are professional, and our goal is to ensure that our service users are happy and safe in their home environment and maintain dignity, respect and independence from a great team of carers. We are a small but growing team providing excellent care working together with our service users to ensure all thier needs are met to a high standard. Based in Pontypool, Torfaen but providing care and support throughout Newport, Blaenavon, Torfaen County areas..

Calon Fawr Care and Support Services are a local privately owned home care provider. Our client base is a mixture of clients based with us by the local authority and privately funded service users.

We see our strength in our philosophy to provide the best possible care and results for our clients.

We are currently looking for staff to join our team, flexible hours to suity your needs, to work with our service users in their own homes in Pontypool and surrouding areas.

Calon Fawr Care and Support Services believe that care staff are invaluable and as such need looking after aswell as our clients. The managment team respect, value and listen to all of our care team and provide a friendly and flexible environment for our carers to work in and develop proffessionaly with full support.

All staff from the Co-ordinators to the Director have been carers, every member of the team will deliver care when required.

We are a full "working " team, we dont sit behind a desk!

What can we offer you?

  • We try to fill all our promotions internally, you will have the chance to start your QCF 2 (NVQ) after 6 months, you can then progress to senior carer with training to level 3, taking on specific office based roles or even develop to care coordinator, team leader etc

  • If you want to progress into other roles outside of Calon Fawr Care we will still support you while at university or college by offering a flexible approach to your working pattern

Are you the right person for us?

  • You should be willing to learn, be accepting, be able to listen and have respect and patience for our mainly elderly service users
  • You will have a caring and accepting personality, eager to make a difference in people’s lives
  • No formal qualifications are required as training will be provided
  • You need to have a UK or EU driving licence and your own transport for this position
  • We are currently not able to accept applications requiring sponsorship

Your role will include, but not be limited to

  • Carrying out personal care and support with medication
  • Preparation of snacks and meals according to the client’s likes/dislikes
  • Assisting with feeding, as required
  • Carrying out a variety of domestic/household services
  • General cleaning duties, including cleaning/dusting/vacuuming/polishing
  • Assistance with personal Finances, including paying bills, collecting pensions
  • Personal Planning (birthdays/anniversaries etc.)
  • To conform to all Policies and Procedures laid down by the Organisation in respect of carrying out these care duties and in other administrative aspects of the business, as relevant
  • To participate as directed by the Manager in Induction Training and regular In-service Training programmes and QCF training
  • To maintain accurate, concise and timely records of client care, diary sheets, time sheets and mileage sheets
  • To participate in Staff, Team and Quality Management Review Meetings as directed by the Manager
  • To report back to the Manager on any aspect of client care that he/she feels warrants investigation or urgent action including Health & Safety, any change of care needs and suspected abuse of any kind
  • To participate in reviews of clients’ Care Plans as required

Salary: £11.00-£12.00 per hour
