This is an exciting opportunity to join North Manchester General Hospital's growing Estates and Facilities team as manager of the Domestic Department.
North Manchester General Hospital is part of Manchester Foundation Trust and the Facilities staff employed provide an integral service to the smooth running of the hospital. We are looking for someone to help us to continue to deliver excellent support services to the hospital.
The post holder will be responsible for providing timely, efficient, and effective operational management ensuring that the Domestic service is responsive, service user focused and provided to the highest possible standard. The post holder will identify changing demand on the services, developing and implementing plans to meet them, and supporting change management processes in conjunction with senior colleagues.
The post holder will need to manage staff effectively and ensure efficient working practices and standards are in place, standard operating procedures are followed, and national cleaning standards and local targets are met and exceeded. The post holder will ensure that services comply with CQC, national guidance and legislation, and Trust polices, providing an effective, quality and efficient service.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage the development and delivery of cost effective and efficient domestic services across the Trust.
2. Responsible for delivering best practice and value for money in the Domestic Services Department for the Trust.
3. Ensure that Domestic Services conform to the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021 and monitoring bodies such as PLACE (Patient Led Assessment of the Care Environment).
4. Give specialist advice on methods of cleaning regarding changes in legislation, statutory regulations, working practices and infection control.
5. Effectively manage, develop and support a team of Deputy Managers, Supervisors and Domestic staff.
