CATS College Cambridge offers an outstanding international pre-university educational experience to
students aged 14+ from all over the world. CATS students live and work at the custom-built Cambridge campus, studying for GCSEs, A levels and University Foundation Programmes, and preparing for admission to universities across the country and elsewhere. OVERVIEW OF THE JOB
The main duties of this post are:
- Day to day cleaning of college and accommodation to a high standard.
- Assisting the Cleaning Supervisor in cleaning duties.
- Front of house service.
- Assist with deliveries to ensure they are put away correctly and safely.
REPORTS TO
You will be directly responsible to the Domestic Supervisor. You will work within the framework set
by and under the general direction of the Principal.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB
Cross College Duties:
- To be mindful of the need to ensure all College students and staff receive a high level of cleaning production.
- To promote the good name of the College through conduct towards students, parents, agents and other parties, and attendance at College events.
- To adhere at all times to College standards.
- To provide general support and cover across the organization as required.
- To be mindful at all times of health and safety requirements.
Daily:
- Maintain the high level of hygiene standards throughout the college and accommodation.
- All staff to be wearing correct uniforms at all times.
- All uniforms are clean on and ironed.
- All staff required to use correct tools at all times.
- Ensure all jobs sheets are signed and maintained.
- All chemicals to be stored away in locked cabinet except daily spray bottles.
- All toilet check sheets are completed.
- All accidents to be logged as they happen in the accident book.
- Report all issue in the day to day running of the cleaning team to the Cleaning Manager.
- Report any Maintenance issues to the Cleaning Manager.
- All staff who have been off sick must report to the Cleaning Manager on return to work.
- All staff must complete a back to work form with Cleaning Manager.
- Store rooms to be kept clean and tidy.
- Support all staff where necessary if further support is needed then pass to the Cleaning
Manager
- Document all issues that may occur with staff and report to the Cleaning Manager.
- Other related duties as directed by the management from time to time.
- All shifts to be covered and cover where necessary.
Weekly:
- Check all equipment is safe with no defects.
- Check all staff has correct equipment.
- Complete all tasks as per weekly matrix.
- Report to Cleaning Manager with any defects.
- Other related duties as directed by the management from time to time.
Monthly:
- All new staff to inform Cleaning Supervisor of their sizes required for uniforms.
- All new staff to be inducted with basic chemical training.
- All new staff to be inducted in basic methods for cleaning.
- All new staff to be inducted in basic hand washing methods.
- Process all holiday requests to the Cleaning Supervisor via ADP to authorize.
- Cleaning of the outside area as and when required.
- General cleaning duties of the College and or campus.
- You will also be required to undertake additional duties during our Busy Summer School period. These additional duties will be notified to you prior to the start of the Summer School.
The post holder will have the ultimate responsibility for all the above functions. They will need to possess a caring attitude and a good sense of customer service. An ability to work on own initiative as well as being a good team player.
