Job description

  • To provide a comprehensive cleaning service for the Site Services Department within the residential accommodation onsite
  • To work as part of the team to carry out a range of duties associated with the cleaning provisions onsite.
  • To undertake admin support as part of the role
  • To be able to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service
  • To ensure that staff, patients and visitors are treated with courtesy, dignity and respect
  • To assist in the provision of the Grounds and Gardens maintenance services clearing paths.
  • Removal of dust, dirt and debris from surfaces such as floors, walls, ceilings, fixtures and fittings, doors, ledges, ovens, fridges, glass and sanitary fittings by appropriate specified methods. Vacuum under beds and vents, clean blinds and damp dust bed frames.
  • Mechanical maintenance of floor and carpets, including carpet cleaning and floor scrubbing
  • Emptying and cleaning waste bins, refuse containers and replacing colour-coded liners according to Torbay and South Devon Healthcare Clinical Waste Policy and secure and store waste for collection.
  • Replenishing supplies — toilet rolls, soap etc.
  • Follow Trust security procedures in relation to the security of keys and access codes
To work as part of the Site Services team to carry out a range of duties associated with ensuring the highest levels of cleaning service are delivered on site.

  • To respond to all reasonable additional ad-hoc requests for cleaning as and when required
  • Maintain a polite approach at all times to patients, visitors and staff members
  • To report any maintenance faults promptly to the Estates Department for action
  • To attend and participate in departmental meetings and training as required
  • Be responsive to change to meet the needs of the service and the flexibility to work weekends if required to ensure smooth running of the service

  • Use all PPE as required, this may include gloves, aprons and headwear Locking/unlocking doors and windows and turning on/off lights.
  • Observing Health and Safety Regulations, including manual handling and fire safety.
  • Cooperate with the management team within the Trust to implement change for the improvement of service
  • To issue keys for accommodation for on call emergency rooms and deliver to the EFM Helpdesk as and when required
  • To support the Site Services team during Winter pressures and provide an emergency accommodation service to the Trust both onsite and at Boyce Court nominated accommodation for the Trust
  • To ensure that all machinery and equipment used, in connection with departmental duties are maintained to the highest possible standard and ensure that all damaged or broken machinery and equipment is reported to the line manager in order that they may be repaired
  • Be responsible for personal paperwork including completion of timesheets, time allocation monitoring sheets, mechanical equipment usage records, pesticide records
  • To comply with the Trust's personnel policies and procedures
  • To ensure that all waste is collected and processed in accordance with current legislation as directed by your Supervisor
  • Ensure that all equipment and materials are used and stored safely in compliance with COSHH regulations and Health & Safety requirements, ensuring use of warning signs in relation to carrying out duties (especially wet floor mopping) o Reporting relevant equipment faults and need for repair
  • To comply with ånd work within Health and Safety regulations at all times, and to ensure that all health and safety issues which become apparent during work related duties are reported to the manager in a timely manner.
  • To undertake basic administration duties as and when required to support the Site
  • To undertake routine inspections of accommodation and record findings on an inspection report form on the condition of the property
  • To administer key allocation for on call keys in the absence of the supervisor
