We are looking for enthusiastic people who have previous cleaning experience in a Healthcare environment to join our evening team.
We have various weekly hours available (15hrs- 30hrs) working afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Job Summary
Ensure a clean environment (clinical and non-clinical areas) for patients and all other users of Trust premises General cleaning duties including the regular cleaning of floors, sanitary areas, damp cleaning fixtures and other hard surfaces
Other periodic cleaning duties such as high dusting, deep cleaning fixtures, changing curtains etc according to the required schedule
Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is a provider of specialist health care to over 275,000 children and young people each year. In addition to the hospital site located in the West Derby area of Liverpool, Alder Hey has a presence in community outreach sites and, in collaboration with other providers, our clinicians help deliver care closer to patients’ homes by holding local clinics at locations from Cumbria to Shropshire, in Wales and the Isle of Man. The Trust also provides inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Alder Park building in the nearby borough of Sefton.
We currently have more than 4,000 staff working across our community and hospital sites. We’re also a teaching and training hospital providing education and training to around 540 medical and over 500 nursing and allied health professional students each year.

Planning and organising skills
1. Maintain high standards of cleanliness to comply with the current National Cleaning Standards and any other relevant guidance.
1. Make own judgements on routine cleaning duties, working within Trust policies and procedures
1. Safely empty and clean all clinical and general waste bins in patient areas, ensuring bags are tagged appropriately and correct colour liners are replaced.
1. Assist with the collection of waste via the AGV call system
1. Use Trust issued chemicals, materials and equipment (including pushing cleaning machinery) in accordance with training provided
1. Ensure that designated cleaning cupboards, ,cleaning trolley and all equipment is kept clean and well organized at all times. Ensure any faults are reported to a Supervisor promptly.
1. Have knowledge and comply with Trust policies and procedures and in particular Infection Prevention and Control and Health and Safety Policies
1. Report any accidents/dangerous occurrences and escalate to a Domestic Supervisor and participate in completion of all accident form recording.
1. Assist in the training and induction of new starters to the department.
1. Any other tasks as required which are commensurate with the duties of this post
