We are currently recruiting for a Carer Cover Driver from North / Central London for our Bruce's North London in Hemel Hempstead.

About the role:
We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy and motivated full time Carer Cover Driver who will love being surrounded by dogs. Caring for their safe and healthy transportation to and from our Day care in Hemel Hempstead and provide our customers with outstanding service for our North London Customers.

Our cover drivers are an essential part of our team at Bruce's and your day will be a varied one with helping to look after dogs in the field to often being required to cover routes to collect and drop off our customers' dogs.

This is a client facing role so you must be well presented, well spoken with good English and outstanding communication skills.
Please note that a DBS is required and you must have a full clean UK licence as our company vehicles are manual.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collecting and dropping off the dogs using the Bruce’s doggy buses
  • Maintaining a clean, comfortable and hygienic doggy bus. Including the doggies who travel in them- bathing, washing and toweling the dogs down prior to drop off especially when it's muddy!
  • Supporting the Carers in maintaining our fantastic farmland site
  • Supervising and providing mental and physical stimulation for the dogs, including: playing with dogs, walking dogs, supervising dogs swimming in the pool and being attentive too nervous or fearful dogs.
  • Monitoring dog behaviour, disengaging unwanted behaviour as well as notifying team and manager
  • Liaising clients that may visit the Day Care Centre
  • Interacting to customers that drop off and pick up their dog from the Day Care Centre.
  • Delivering the weekly engagement plan by following the brief given by managers. This also requires using your initiative but never at the cost of the dog’s safety or dog to Carer ratio.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the indoor areas, outdoor areas, office, pools, agility equipment.
  • Ensuring a safe and clean environment in both the fields and cabins. This is not limited to taking out rubbish and cleaning up after the dogs.
  • Taking pictures of the dogs in each of the fields using cameras owned by Bruce’s Doggy Day Care, uploading them onto albums in the CRM and tagging the individual dogs in photographs to be sent to customers.
