Dog Walker & Pet Sitter - full and part time positions available

Covering Waltham Forest, & Redbridge East London

Earn between £200-£500 per week (earnings vary dependant on ambition and commitment to work)

We're looking for dynamic, confident and caring people to join our growing team of pet care professionals. Currently supplying care to over 100 happy clients in the heart of East London. We are a small local business seeking dedicated, reliable individuals to join our passionate team, who want to elevate their skills in delivering quality care to our Pals!

Availability

You must be available Monday - Friday between 9:00am - 4:00 pm however, during the summer months we may require earlier starts to avoid the heat. Days and shifts may alter dependant on client bookings. Although this position requires a regular commitment for the above operational hours, additionally, evening, weekend and bank holiday bookings are common, so we require flexibility from all of our team to cover these. A ‘roll your sleeves up and get stuck in approach’ is a must for the viability of the position and our out of hours jobs are compensated accordingly at a higher rate to accommodate this.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the safe transportation, exercise, training, cleaning, collection and drop of all dogs assigned to you day to day.
  • Occasional evening and weekend house sits for feline, canine and smaller pal clients.
  • You must have a sincere passion for dogs of all shapes and sizes and a positive attitude to working in all weathers.
  • A desire to expand your knowledge in canine and feline behaviour.
  • You will be required to obtain a canine first aid qualification and attend in-house and external training to develop your training skill.
  • Knowledge of dog welfare and uk control laws.
  • Regular sanitation and pest control of equipment and vehicle in line with company policy

Must have requirements

  • A background in professional animal care is preferred with previous experience of working with or owning a dog.
  • Experience or knowledge of positive reinforcement and canine behaviour modification training is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, face to face and written are essential as this is a customer care role for our human pals as well as our dog pals.
  • A thorough knowledge of the roads in the boroughs covered.
  • You must be confident working alone and able to manage your own workload.
  • You will be practised across all social media platforms and able to drive sales through them.
  • This is a self employed role, you will need to prove you are eligible to work in the UK, hold current DBS check and be willing to have further employment checks conducted if necessary.
  • A full UK (preferably clean) driving license with at least three years driving experience.
  • Your own car or van with working air-conditioning.
  • Proven reliability and character through multiple references

Following interview we require a two week (paid) trail, then three month probation period as standard. It is a self employed contracted position which will be reviewed after one year.

COVID-19 considerations:
All successful candidates will be expected to complete all collection and drops of dogs wearing a face covering or mask and to regularly sanitise equipment and vehicles. All candidates will be expected to adhere to our internal policies at all times.
