Job Description: Dog Walker & Dog Trainer for That Dog Guy
We are currently seeking an incredibly reliable, grounded and enthusiastic individual who has amazing customer service skills to join our team as a Dog Walker with the option to learn to be a trainer/ behaviourist etc and perhaps progress on to managing an area or running a boarding facility.
If you are already qualified and experienced then even better but we are also very open to someone who has already been highly successful in another high pressure environment such as a general manager from hospitality and wants to make a long term career change.
Our company aims to be the equivalent of a Michelin star winning restaurant so you have to truly excel in all areas. Subsequently the work will pay a lot higher than other animal jobs but also can be significantly more demanding at times, so you will need a great work ethic and the ability to keep it together under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Walk dogs in open parks, ensuring their safety and well-being of a group of 4-8 dogs whilst managing an assistant. - Provide 121 walks with more challenging dogs whilst learning to train. - Follow very specific instructions provided by dog owners regarding feeding, medication, or special care. - Evaluate every situation and think ahead to prevent any incidents or accidents. - Clean up after dogs during walks which can realistically involve cleaning feces of them if they were to roll in something horrible. - Pre plan your routes and revise training protocols in preparation for each day. Learn what health signs to look out for that may exclude a dog from getting in the van with other dogs. - Provide excellent customer service by building rapport with clients and addressing any questions or concerns they may have and providing pictures and updates.
-Drive a van in London.
-Be calm in the often fast changing, high stakes situations.
-Be flexible to respond to clients emergencies, extreme weather changes etc.
Qualifications:
Must have a genuine compassion and patience for dogs and enjoy spending time with them. - Previous experience working with dogs is preferred but not required. - Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments with confidence and patience - Good physical stamina and ability to handle heavy lifting (e.g., lifting large dog breeds) - Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients - Reliable transportation route from your home to Hammersmith to arrive on time everyday or you will run out of daylight or may leave a dog inside too long.
FULL CLEAN MANUAL LICENCE held for over 5 years. No points or claims in the last 5 years. Have lived in UK for at least 1 year. Fluent English to a very high standard in order to understand scientific terms relating to dog behaviour and understand instructions fast.
A smart phone equipped with whatsapp, maps and ability to download apps.
