Location - Henley-On-Thames and surrounding areas

Are you an enthusiastic animal lover with a zest for the outdoors? Then look no further! We are seeking dedicated dog walkers to join our fantastic team at We Love Pets Henley-On-Thames.

If you’re an animal lover that loves being outdoors, then this is for you! There are various positions available to suit, on a temporary basis that may lead to a permanent position.

Main duties

  • Pick up and drop off dogs from their homes whilst ensuring the security of customers’ homes
  • Transport dogs safely from their home to the walk in your own vehicle
  • Understand special requests and specific conditions for each dog
  • Walk dogs outdoors in all weather conditions (anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes at a time)
  • Give each dog love and attention and treat the customer’s dogs as if they were your own
  • Ensure each dog is getting plenty of exercise and a toilet break
  • Ensure the safety of the dogs you are walking and anyone else around them
  • Remove pet waste
  • Take photos of the dogs for their owners and update them regularly
  • Give fresh water, wipe paws and towel wet dogs down
  • Check your schedule daily and report back to your manager with any queries
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Cover for team sickness/holiday

Requirements: Applicants must be over the age of 18, have their own vehicle and live locally.

Candidates must:

  • Be able to walk for a few hours a day
  • Be able to lift, exercise, handle and restrain dogs
  • Submit a police and reference check
  • Look after dogs as if they are a member of the family
  • Complete our online pet first aid course
  • Carry out some shadow walks before taking the job
  • Undergo training as required
  • MUST have your own car (insurance, tax and MOT required) travel between clients will be paid.
  • Know their area and local dog walking spots
  • Have a reliable mobile phone and internet access
  • Write well and communicate clearly with your manager
  • Report to the branch manager and work with the dog walking team to provide a high-quality dog walking service.
  • Be available for lunch time walks
  • Be friendly, polite and a great team player
