I am looking for a responsible, reliable and an enthusiastic individual to join the team in becoming a professional dog walker, providing pet care services to a very high standard. Looking for long term only, to grow and expand the business
This is a full-time opportunity based in the Cardiff Area with an immediate start (September) Part-time hours are initially available with the potential to move to full time hours depending on customer needs and requirements.
Lee’s Leads offer both individual and group dog walks. Group dog walks usually consist of up to 4/5 carefully grouped dogs. I also offer pet care services including comfort breaks, puppy visits, pet taxi service. Dog walks and visits are typically carried out between 9am and 4pm (Monday to Friday), however hours of work may vary including weekend days on the odd occasion for doggy daycares.
The role can be physically and mentally demanding and would best suit individuals with a good level of fitness who enjoy walking outdoors in all weather conditions and being physically active. Due to the nature of the role, your own vehicle will be essential along with suitable transportation methods for dogs in our care (support can be provided to help you set up your vehicle appropriately).
The ideal candidate will have a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards work and will be well organised, proactive and flexible to change. I am also seeking someone who has a huge love for dogs, is very approachable, courteous and friendly and is able to build positive and supportive relationships with our customers and dogs.
Main Duties
To undertake individual or group walks (max 4/5 dogs).
To understand and action special requests for each dog and support customer needs.
Ensure dogs are collected at the agreed times requested by customers.
Engage with customers and ensure each dog has love, care and attention.
Take daily pictures and provide regular updates to customers.
Communicate with clients and create a friendly relationship.
Pick up dog waste and dispose of responsibly.
Ensure pets are cleaned and dried after each walk.
Provide a suitable and safe mode of transport for dogs.
To carry out dogs walks around Cardiff and transport dogs safely and securely to walking locations.
Person Requirements
Dedicated, committed and enthusiastic.
Dog handling experience, with a love for dogs and people.
Good level of physical fitness.
Own transport and has access to a vehicle that is taxed, insured and has a valid mot (with suitable and safe facilities for transporting dogs).
Mobile phone with access to internet, social media platforms (whatsapp)
