Job description
Good Dog Pet Care Services is looking to hire a dog walker to join our team. We provide personal but professional and reliable care to pets of all shapes and sizes in and around Norwich. Animal Welfare is at the heart of everything we do, and we strive to provide the best service we can for our furry friends. You’ll need to have a natural affinity with pets and be happy to work outdoors all year round.
A part-time, permanent position has become available; this route is based in Reepham (NR10) and covers surrounding villages (within approx 5 mile radius). Hours typically cover Monday-Friday 10am-3pm, however these can vary. You will have an established clientele, and the potential to build upon this if you wish.
Responsibilities and Duties
We offer pet care to a wide variety of animals, but mostly dogs. You will be required to pick up and drop off, walk and socialise dogs; up to 3 at any one time. Visit cats, puppies, and other small furries where you will need to carry out general pet care duties such as feeding/water, fussing and cleaning up after pets. Experience with other animals would be desirable. We also offer Overnight Pet Sitting whereby you will stay in the home of your clients and care for and maintain their pets routine (feeding, walking and providing companionship) whilst they are away; this is not a compulsory part of the job but willingness to do this is very desirable. You will need to provide regular communications with your clients, and be willing to meet new owners/pets that wish to join the Good Dog family - this is vital for building rapport and maintaining satisfaction.

You will therefore be responsible for your own Self Assessment each year (Tax and NI) – guidance for this can be provided. You will be covered by our business insurance; however you will need to obtain business cover for your vehicle. You will undergo a training period shadowing another team member, getting familiar with your clients, walking locations and methods.
