LIVforPETS is an independent dog walking and pet care business based in Slip End, Bedfordshire covering the local area and surrounding Towns and Villages. Our vision is to provide high quality, professional pet care services while enjoying the work we do.
We are seeking an energetic, experienced and passionate pet carer to provide dog walking and house drop-in/sitting services to our clients. This is a great opportunity that offers flexible hours.
Responsibilities
- Collecting dogs from client’s homes, providing an hours walk in a safe environment. Wiping them down before returning them home. Abiding by local laws including picking-up after the dogs.
- Transporting dogs safely and securely with your own vehicle.
- Write up dog walking reports and sending to clients using the LIVforPETS online portal.
- Providing drop-in services such as feeding, litter tray cleaning and playtime for cats.
- Safe keeping of clients keys and ensuring clients homes are left secure.
- Reporting any worries, concerns in change of pet behaviour.
- Maintaining a positive relationship with clients.
Requirements
Essential
- Must have own pets and experience walking dog/s.
- The ability to identify normal and abnormal behaviours as well as signs of potential illness in dogs and small pets.
- Full and clean driving license and access to suitable vehicle.
- Must be patient, punctual and reliable.
- Access to a smartphone
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Calm and caring nature in order to bring out the best in the dogs whilst ensuring a safe walking environment.
- Be forward thinking and adaptable.
Desirable
- Pet First Aid Trained (training can be provided)
- Have a qualification in animal care/welfare and/or have previously worked within the animal industry.
- Know and understand the Five Freedoms (training can be provided).
- Understand the legalities and personal responsibilities around walking dogs (training can be provided)
Job Specifics
Job Type: Part-time Employed and Self-Employed positions available.
Estimated working Hours: 4 - 6 hrs a day Monday – Friday. There may be occasional weekend work providing drop-in services for cats and small animals.
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance, Zero hours contract
Part-time hours: 20 per week
